Nicholas Stedman's art practice has been rooted in computers, and electronics for about ten years. During this time he has made and collaborated on robots, devices, installations, and performances which explore people's relationships to technology. His work has been shown across Canada, his home and native land, and internationally including at ISEA2004 (Talinn, Estonia), Future Physical (Norwich, England), Artbots (New York City), and Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria). Currently Nicholas is living in Toronto where he teaches at Ryerson University, He is also completing an MFA in media study at the University at Buffalo. Previously, he managed the studio and developed workshops at InterAccess Electronic Media Arts Centre in Toronto, and worked at the Banff Centre for the Arts helping visiting artists to create interactive artworks. In his bios Nicholas always asks people to get in touch, but no one ever does. This makes him cranky and moody.
