biography

Mattia Casalegno (°1981, IT) live-media artist, vj and new media designer living between Rome and Bruxelles. At the crossing point of video-art, new media and live AV art, his works always move from the necessity to explore relations and interconnections between musical and visual languages; his personal aesthetic research strives from the constant digital languages’ mediamorphosis offered by new media technologies and audiovisual communication’s new synthetic forms of experimentation. The imaginary emerging from his projects is often driven by a constant research merging the fields of information (in-forms, to give form), biology (bio-logos, disourse on living) and ecology (in the Batesonian term), pointing on the centrality of code as tool and metaphor of his poetic. His works and performances have been showed in events such as Roma Europa Festival, Netmage and Sant’Arcangelo dei Teatri in Italy, Mutek (CA), Optronica (UK), OFFF (ES), Cimatics (BE), AVIT (DE). http://www.mattiacasalegno.net Michael Langeder (°1981, AT) Architect and visual artist living in Ghent, Belgium. His practice spans a broad range including video, photography, installation, drawing and performance. He studied Architecture at the Technical University of Graz, Austria from 2002-05, at the Universidad Polytecnica in Valencia, Spain from 2005-06 and at the Universidad Central in Caracas, Venezuela. During his studies in Graz he worked as a study assistent to Hans Kupelwieser at the institute of contemporary art. Since 2005 occasional works as a freelance architect in offices such as Pichler & Traupmann (Vienna) or Office Kersten Geers & David van Severen (Brussels) followed. Since 2007 he lives and works Belgium where he joined a Masterclass for live audiovisual art in Brussels. In 2008 he graduated in Architecture with his Masters thesis “Die Kunst der Störung”. Michael Langeder's work emerges from a preoccupation with space and light where the public domain often serves as field for experimentation. Recent comissions include clients such as Supremebeing (ICC Distribution), Jean Paul Gaultier, Sonia Rykiel (Villaeugenie) and Michael Fakesch (K7 records). http://www.michaellangeder.com
