Abinadi Meza (Mexican, b. 1976) is a Los Angeles-based sound artist whose work engages social, technological and environmental systems. He works in multiple materials and formats including broadcasts, performances, installations and fixed-media; his specific research interests include spatial sound, Noise, xenopoetics and complex time structures. Meza is educated in creative writing, art, architecture and Butoh, a Japanese performance practice known for its use of grotesque and ecstatic imagery, slow time, and extreme environments. He is the founder of FocoLab, an experimental research studio working in partnerships across film, architecture, urbanism and experience design.
