[Three1 (top) and Three2 (bottom) ] These drawings combine the dice-based drawing idea with the "Y" branching shapes from Molmachine. I really liked the simplicity and mutability of the "Y" shapes and I decided to see what would happen if I used them to create more programmatic drawings. The process here is fairly simple: there are three 3-pronged elements. I roll a 3-sided die once to select which element gets drawn, and then again to select which prong the element comes off of. Three1 is 1 "colony" of these elements that goes until it runs off the page. Three2 is a number of colonies that stop if they run off the page or into another colony. |
